Hosting background Information:
We have designed a range of web hosting packages to suit most types of online presence from a brochure site through to E-Commerce. The packages are nothing however, if the infrastructure behind them is not up to the job.

Data Centre
Webmozaic use industrial strength web servers located at ServerHouse which is one of the UK's leading neutral co-location facilities offering state-of-the-art facilities, top-quality connectivity and is an excellent alternative to central London based hosting.

The data centre is equipped with comprehensive climate control. Computer controlled, they maintain optimum working conditions for server appliances. As you would expect, there is comprehensive fire prevention, detection and suppression equipment

Server Hardware
The latest Industrial strength Dell PowerEdge servers with dual 2.4Ghz genuine Intel processors. One processor runs all the time, the second is a hot standby which takes over instantly if the first fails for any reason. Connectivity is dual 100Mbit Ethernet adapters, a minimum of 1 gigabyte of memory and a server grade mainboard and chipset. Storage is spread across multiple Ultra 160 SCSI hard disk drives using Adaptec RAID controllers.

Redundancy and backup
Every server runs a RAID based disk redundancy solution, should any of the primary disk drives fail, a secondary disk drive can take over the work load with no loss of availability. In addition, servers are backed up over gigabit ethernet link to a backup server in a separate data centre.

Connectivity
The network is fully switched, utilising high specification components including Cisco routers and 3com switches. Replacements for all core equipment are kept on site ensuring fast recovery in the event of equipment failure. The data centre has three primary dedicated gigabit fibre uplinks offering 2000Mbit of redundant Internet bandwidth which take diverse routes to a central London based six point gigabit ring. From there connections are peered with all the major UK backbones.

Power Supplies
Dedicated 250KVA electricity supply delivers both three phase and single phase power. Power is routed through uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices and power conditioners before being distributed to server racks through industrial strength outlets.

Power outages are inevitable however, multiple UPS' protect the network. In the event of a failure of the utility power, the UPS will immediately take the load of servers and network hardware. In the event of a longer term utility power outage, a diesel generator would supply power to the entire data centre for an indefinite period of time.
